DIRECT SELLING ASSOCIATION (DSA)
Direct Selling Association was created in Hungary on 8 April 1993 by 8 founding members. The Association is the business federation of those leading companies who sell their products and services directly to the customers – in the form of personal selling without shops. Direct Selling Association is a non-profit organization, whose primary tasks are to enhance the appreciation of direct selling as a profession, represent the interests of its member companies and enable consumers to get acquainted with its advantages and recognize reliable companies who comply with the Code of Conduct released by the Federation of European Direct Selling Association (FEDSA) in 1995.
It is very important for the association that it is member of the European Association, which embraces 32 national associations, as well as the World Association, which includes 55 member countries. These international relations serve as great opportunities to exchange experience and extend professional knowledge, because mostly those countries participate in it where direct selling has decades-long traditions. |

HUNGARIAN DIETARY SUPPLEMENT ASSOCIATION (MÉKISZ)
The Hungarian Dietary Supplement Association was founded in December 2003. Members of MÉKISZ undertakes not only to the current legal requirements, but also to support consumers’ orientation in the dietary supplement market. The association feels responsible for customers of foodstuffs, most importantly those of dietary supplements, since the successful operation of member companies primarily depends on the confidence of consumers. The Code of Conduct accepted by the Dietary Supplement Division of the Herb Association and Product Council contains those ethical and competition rules that members of the association are obliged to follow. Having agreed to the above written, the GéSz Gaál és Sziklás Kft. has been member of the Association from the beginning. A major advantage of membership is that topical issues related to dietary supplements can be accessed from a first-hand source. The association maintains a close relationship with the professionals of the European Food Safety Office, and lobbies through parliamentary representatives for the interests of the Hungarian dietary supplement producers. The special committee of the European Union provides us with information on a weekly basis. We are active participants of general assemblies, which are organized several times a year, and where lecturers of OÉTI and the General Inspectorate for Consumer Protection call attention to the problems this field has to cope with. Members of MÉKISZ play a role in and express their opinion on the policy related to dietary supplements, for example, creating the list of positive-negative product ingredients, and the statements indicated on the package. Members endeavour to maintain the controllability of products and make sure that consumers get in touch exclusively with secure products. This problem arises primarily in the case of imported, uncontrolled products.
